Autodesk Inc., acquired Pan Computing LLC on March 4th, 2016. The Additive Manufacturing simulation tool developed by Pan Computing has been commercialized by Autodesk and is sold as Netfabb Simulation. Pan Computing fills a major gap in the additive manufacturing workflow by providing physics-based modeling of additive processes. Powerful simulation capabilities predict the resulting thermal history, residual stress, and distortion of manufactured parts based on known process parameters. Thermo-mechanical finite element analysis software enables the virtual design and optimization of additive manufacturing processes to reduce design time, improve part performance, and reduce the overall development cost. The software implements several technologies that enable accurate and fast simulation of manufacturing large and complex parts.
